Best Environmental Management Practice for the Food and Beverage Manufacturing Sector

The development of the Best Environmental Management Practices (BEMPs) forms part of the overall Best Practice REFerence documents (BREFs) for food and beverage manufacturers and aims to encourage the uptake of best practice across Europe. The study was completed for the EU Joint Research Centre (JRC) and published by them as a Science for Policy report.

Our role in the project was to produce case studies across the sector, upon which the report is based. The project involved a combination of internet-based research followed by engagement with stakeholders to identify best practice, validate the data / best practice claims and finally to develop the case studies that showcase best practice.
