Oakdene Hollins and CVRAM Sign MoU to Drive Circular Economy in Malaysia’s Automotive Sector
UK sustainability consultancy Oakdene Hollins has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Commercial Vehicles Rebuilders Association Malaysia (CVRAM) to promote circular economy practices across Malaysia’s automotive sector.
The collaboration will focus on advancing waste reduction, improving resource efficiency, and strengthening life-cycle management within the commercial vehicle industry.
The MoU was signed by Dato’ Nik Izani Nik Ibrahim, President of CVRAM, and Stuart Foster, Director and Owner of Oakdene Hollins, during a meeting hosted by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) in London.
Stuart Foster, Director of Oakdene Hollins, said:
“It is really important to collaborate and share knowledge internationally around practical automotive remanufacturing opportunities, led of course by good data and science. I am really looking forward to working more closely with Malaysia through CVRAM and realising the potential benefits of circular economy in the automotive sector.
We already have some great focus and understanding in the UK, but also still a lot to learn from international partners in this space with many of the principles around automotive circular systems applicable globally.”
Under the agreement, Oakdene Hollins will provide technical expertise, advisory support and international linkages, while CVRAM will lead local implementation, stakeholder engagement and policy alignment with Malaysia’s national sustainability objectives.
Joint activities will include:
· Exchanging research and best practice on circular economy approaches.
· Building industry capacity through training and technical workshops.
· Developing collaborative projects in sustainable resource management and circular design.
· Engaging government and industry stakeholders to advance circular economy initiatives.
