The International Lead and Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) report 'Main First Uses of Lead and Zinc in Europe 2017' is now available from the ILZSG's website.

This 39 page report continues the ILZSG’s work - after an eight year break - analysing trends in the main first uses of lead and zinc in Europe.

As the ILZSG is pleased to acknowledge, "the 'Main First Uses of Lead and Zinc in Europe 2017 report' was prepared for the Group by the independent UK-based consulting firm Oakdene Hollins". They also credit us with carrying out extensive research involving "direct contact with a broad range of industry experts and associations ... in close co-operation with the ILZSG secretariat." The data analysed covers the period 2006 to 2015.

For lead, the report provides a breakdown of first uses in the following areas: industrial batteries, automotive batteries, rolled and extruded products, shot and ammunition, cable sheathing, lead compounds (including gasoline additives) and miscellaneous (including alloys).

For zinc the breakdown encompasses continuous galvanizing, general galvanizing, brass and bronze, zinc semi-manufactures, zinc alloys, zinc compounds (including dust/powder) and miscellaneous.
