Managing Consultant

You will lead client engagements and project teams, owning the day-to-day client relationship and the project outcomes, increasingly growing your team leadership, project management and client relationship development capabilities

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Relevant first degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in a science discipline (favouring engineering and economic disciplines). 

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification. 

  • Minimum of 3 years' work experience, ideally in a consultancy role (or a functional role with high responsibility in project delivery and stakeholder management), ideally with a specialist technical focus in circular economy, value retention and/or carbon accounting. 

  • Demonstrated experience of delivering projects and providing/implementing recommendations and solutions in a commercial setting. 


Your main responsibilities will sit across three key pillars

Delivering Client Work

  • Manage the delivery of client projects, with responsibility for the full project lifecycle from inception to delivery, including the project team and budget.   

  • Develop and execute workplans for projects and mobilise teams for engagement. Align project delivery and adapt deliverables as needed to ensure both client and commercial outcomes are achieved. 

  • Manage project teams on client engagements. Provide direction and leadership, and monitor resource allocation and project delivery. 

  • Act as the first point of contact to stakeholders when on engagement. Accurately ascertain challenges experienced by clients and work in a collaborative manner to address them by understanding client’s perspective and managing expectations.  

  • Ideate and lead the analytical approach required to deliver the client project and constructively and clearly convey expectations to the project team.  

Driving Business Development

  • Contribute to the development of key client accounts by creating influential and effective networks with clients and building effective, sustainable relationships with client advocates.  

  • Support the acquisition of new client projects through meaningful contribution to the sales process (bids, proposals, sales meetings / pitches, and statements of work). 

  • Build knowledge across our offerings and contribute to demonstrating expertise externally through thought leadership, research, and marketing within the space.  

Enabling Company Development

  • Manage significant improvement initiatives aligned with Oakdene Hollins strategy. Lead internal project teams to deliver improvements on-time, on-budget and align internal project priorities with client or market needs.  

  • Identify new areas of opportunity and support the development and innovation of propositions to meet opportunities and unmet needs. Help build and develop IP, frameworks, and solutions.  

  • Role model effective contributions and usage of internal improvement mechanisms and information management principles to enhance efficiency across team.
