Businesses looking again at extended producer responsibility measures at the 2018 “Resourcing the Future” conference

“This is a panel of three UK experts who understand the implementation issues that follow from the political calls to act on discarded single use drinks containers: it's guaranteed to be revealing,” says David Fitzsimons, who will chair an expert panel on the implementation of deposit return systems at the Resourcing the Future Conference 2018 on 13 June.

The expert panellists will be:

  • Callum Blackburn, Head of Policy & Research, Zero Waste Scotland, who will be assessing the different DRS models for Scotland;
  • Mickey Green, Managing Director, Somerset Waste Partnership, who will look at the benefits, impacts and potential unintended consequences from a local authority perspective; and
  • Dr Dominic Hogg, Chairman, Eunomia Research & Consulting, who will bring the case for a comprehensive deposit refund scheme as part of revised producer responsibility regulations.
